FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What age should my child start martial arts?
4 years old is usually the perfect age to start in martial arts. At this age, children are typically ready for more structured activities throughout the day.
What type of gear does my 4-6 year old need?
From age 4-6, a jiu jitsu gi (uniform) and 12 or 14 ounce boxing gloves are all that a child needs to be fully prepared for martial arts classes.
What type of exercises can help me improve my cardio?
Attending all scheduled classes greatly improves cardio initially. A twenty minute outside exercise like jogging, walking, and running also improves cardio and conditioning.
How soon do I put my kid into a tournament or competition?
It’s important not to push competition on a child too early. However, consistent training without a purpose or set goals can also be unproductive. In my opinion, after 2-4 months of training, you should consider exploring affordable tournament options.
